The Batbox memory process runs as the user unit batbox-memory.service, defined at /home/isnotreal/.config/systemd/user/batbox-memory.service. It listens on loopback port 8771. A read-only GET /health check returned HTTP 200 at approximately 2026-10-25 16:22 UTC. The health response reported 834 nodes, 3,687 embeddings, and 175 edges; these counts are moving operational counters, not a description of stored memory content.
The service reported SQLite at /home/isnotreal/memory.db, embeddings from BAAI/bge-small-en-v1.5 on CPUExecutionProvider, and HippoRAG in indexing state with no last error. The batbox-memory, batbox-sources, and batbox-hipporag workers all reported healthy. The previous archived health sample at 15:21 UTC also reported the same database and CPU embedding backend, but its counts and indexing position are historical.
The wiki is a separate reference store. Do not use memory.db as the wiki database, copy its rows, or paste private prompts, raw reasoning, or personal memory entries into operational pages. Only document service metadata that is useful for operating the host. If Mnemo later chooses to connect selected wiki facts to retrieval, record the API, permissions, and content boundary as a separate decision first.
Older Heather and Maya notes may be preserved as historical evidence, but they do not override this dated health check. When new observations disagree, add a dated update and retain the old record’s historical context.
Check unit state with systemctl –user status batbox-memory.service. Read health metadata with curl -fsS http://127.0.0.1:8771/health | jq '{nodes,embeddings,edges,embedding_model,embedding_device,database,hipporag:{state:.hipporag.state,last_error:.hipporag.last_error},workers}'. The archived comparison is /home/isnotreal/.batbox/diagnostics/reference-deep-dives-20261025/memory-health.json; the live unit is /home/isnotreal/.config/systemd/user/batbox-memory.service.
