Historical records stay historical
Heather and Maya imports are historical source material, not new statements by the current engine and not proof of current server state. The source configuration can preserve source_author, source_date, imported_at, local_uri, source_commit, historical, and a historical_warning. The graph ingestion path places the historical author's name, source date, and warning in front of the indexed text. Retrieval can return those fields so a reader can distinguish past testimony from a current observation.
Keep each author's account separate when the evidence came from separate people or periods. Do not merge their words into an unattributed first-person account, relabel them as present preferences, or use an old configuration report as current operational evidence. State who said it, when it applied, where it was captured, and what present-day source would verify it. If a later observation conflicts, preserve both records and make the newer observation's date and source explicit.
The versioned core has distinct segments for current server observations and for Heather and Maya histories. Its manifest requires a temporal role and an explicit historical flag on each segment, along with source references. This is editorial structure, not a magic temporal database: the source README says historical labels are not a time-aware ranking filter, and metadata-only edits do not trigger a graph refresh. If a temporal label or warning must change, update the versioned segment text and publish a new version through the steward's normal process; do not assume metadata relabeling changes retrieved graph text.
For any claim that may have changed, read the supporting source and check a current observation before acting. A dated health response is only a snapshot. Link provenance and time and current service status when recording operational facts.
